Head to head

Etsy vs Poshmark fees

Poshmark's 20% flat commission is the highest in this set. Etsy's effective rate is roughly half that — but the two are selling different things to different buyers.

On these numbers, Etsy leaves you $245.25 better off across 50 sales — about $4.90 per unit, or 10.9% of the sale price. On a product with a thin margin, that percentage is the profit.

What the table cannot tell you

Every comparison like this flatters the cheaper platform, because it holds demand constant. Etsy and Poshmark do not have the same buyers, the same conversion rate or the same return rate. A platform that takes 3% more but converts twice as well is not the expensive one.

The number to plug in yourself: what does one sale cost you in time and advertising on each? If you cannot answer that, you are not comparing fees — you are comparing guesses.

On identical item prices, Poshmark takes roughly twice what Etsy takes. There is no payment processing line to add, because the 20% covers it — the simplicity is the point.

Poshmark bundles a prepaid shipping label, which is genuinely valuable for heavy or awkward items, and it removes shipping from your revenue so the fee is not charged on it. That partly offsets the higher percentage.

For anything under $15, Poshmark's flat $2.95 fee can exceed 20% and Etsy's percentage scales down with the price. Low-ticket resale is where the gap is widest.
