TikTok Shop Fee Calculator

TikTok Shop charges a category-based commission, and affiliate commissions to creators are a separate, voluntary cost that can be far larger than the platform fee itself.

All amounts in USD. One unit = one order.

Break-even price: $10.64 — below this you lose money on every sale.

On the example above, TikTok Shop takes 6.0% of every sale. That is the number to compare, not the headline percentage — the fixed fees and the shipping-inclusive fee base are what make the effective rate diverge from the advertised one.

The full fee schedule

Every charge TikTok Shop applies to a United States order, and when each one bites.

FeeAmountWhen it applies
Platform commission 6.0% Category-dependent; roughly 2–8%. 6% is a mid-range placeholder.
Creator affiliate commission optional 10.0% Voluntary commission paid to creators who sell your product. Typically 10–20%.

How the maths works

The calculator does exactly three things: it builds the fee base, applies every active fee, then subtracts your costs. No hidden steps.

# forward — what you keep revenue = (price + shipping charged) × units fees = revenue × 6.00% + $0.00 × units net = revenue − fees − item cost − shipping cost − fixed costs # reverse — what you should charge price = (target + costs + fixed) ÷ (1 − 6.00%) − shipping charged

Optional fees such as Creator affiliate commission are excluded from those percentages until you switch them on, because they only apply to a share of orders. When enabled, they simply add to the rate.

What this calculator leaves out

Common questions

Why is the commission a placeholder?

TikTok Shop sets commission by product category and adjusts it frequently, especially for new sellers. Treat 6% as a starting point and replace it with your category's current rate.

Do creator commissions come out of the platform fee?

No. Affiliate commission is paid by you on top of the platform commission. It is voluntary but is often the single largest cost of a TikTok Shop sale, so it is broken out as a separate toggle.

Should I account for returns?

Yes. Social commerce return rates are materially higher than search-driven marketplaces. A simple approach: add 2–5% of the price to your item cost to represent returned units you cannot resell.

Keep going

If the number above is worse than you expected, the fix is usually one of two things: raise the price, or move the shipping into the item price. Our reverse pricing calculator tells you the price that hits your target; the fee base guide explains why shipping is charged twice.
